In the Yes I Can! tour through Ohio continued as we arrived at the Radisson Hotel Akron, Ohio. The tour team started the morning with a cozy breakfast meeting that was full of strong conversation that fueled our morning managers meeting. The Tour team met with the Ownership & Management team of Mr. Himansu Patel , Ms. Jaysheer Patel, and General Manager Mr. Allen Vora. The Hotel has done a terrific job in the first half of the year by dropping their problem incidence by 25%! The team is dedicated to completing their PIP and looking forward to completing renovations in the guestrooms, fitness center and parking lot.
The afternoon employee rally included almost all of the staff from the hotel. The staff had multiple examples of Surprise and Delight and how they use the Yes I Can! behaviors everyday! The activity was enjoyed by everyone. The Housekeeping staff taught the group how to say “Yes I Can!” in Russian - Да, я могу
Our Yes I Can Award winner was Aaron. Aaron has created a heartwarming relationship with one of the guests at the hotel. The guest was an older gentleman, who stayed for 3-4 weeks while his son was trying to find a house in the area. While the guest was staying at the hotel alone, he would come to the hotel restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Because the guest could not see well at night, Aaron would come get him for dinner and walk him back to his room. Aaron would also help this guest with other personal tasks he needed help with such as shaving. Aaron has left the guest with wonderful memories of the Radisson Hotel in Akron as he still comes back to the hotel each month for breakfast or lunch and often brings his grandchildren.
